FAQ
Does compression lose quality?
JPEG and WebP are lossy, so lower quality means more visible loss. PNG is lossless but usually much larger.
Why set a maximum width?
Most pages never need an image wider than 1600px. Resizing is often more effective than lowering quality, and gentler on the image.
Are the images stored?
No. The whole process runs in the browser, and the results disappear when you close the tab.
